Professional ProfilesDietician
Dieticians support people who have to change their diet fundamentally due to illness or intolerance. As a specialist in the field of balanced nutrition, the dietician works out diet plans that are adapted to the patient’s age, living conditions and health.
Dieticians work mostly in hospitals or rehabilitation centres but also in the food industry. Many also work freelance or work together in a team with the attending physician.
To become a dietician you have to complete a degree course in dietology, which will allow you access to this profession in the country of study. Luxembourg legislation provides for a supplementary internship or a supplementary exam in degree programmes with considerable differences between the study programme and the requirements of Luxembourg legislation.
